An ATV is a powerful, dependable, and rugged vehicle that can handle just about anything nature has to throw at you—but even these mean machines need your help to stay in good condition.

We here at Langston Motorsports have talked about ATV maintenance tools before, but we’ve put together a few more down below to make sure your kit is rounded out. To learn more, or to see the ATVs and ATV accessories we have for sale, contact our store in Perris, California, today!

Penetrating Oil

Any mechanic or engineer will tell you that WD-40 or other penetrating oils are an essential addition to your toolkit. These fluids help lubricate and clean anything that’s supposed to move. They’ll help you loosen screws and can even clean up light rust!

Test Light

These are basic tools for any electrical work you might want to do on your ATV. The light will measure electrical current before and after a connection to let you know if the connection is complete and working properly.

Tire Repair Kit

If you’re on the trail or otherwise far from civilization, you’re going to want to bring a tire repair kit with you. Make sure to include things like patches, plugs, CO2 cartridges, and glue to ensure you can make minor fixes to get you limping back to where you can perform more thorough maintenance.

Tire Iron & Jack

Of course, sometimes a tire is just too far gone to repair. If you have a spare handy, make sure you also have a tire iron and a jack. The tire iron is will get the lug nuts off and back on, and a two-ton scissor jack can handle any ATV and still fold up nice and compact for storage.

Impact Wrench/Driver

We mentioned various wrenches in our other list, but sometimes a fastener just doesn’t want to budge. For those situations, you’ll need an impact wrench or impact driver. These machines look similar to drills but deliver an immense rotational force all at once, which will hopefully jar loose any stubborn screws or bolts. That way you don’t need to work at it too hard. We recommend combining these tools with your penetrating oil to get the best results!

We hope these tips help you get the tools you need to keep your ATV cruising! If you have any questions, or if you’re in need of an ATV to stock up on tools for, contact us at Langston Motorsports. We proudly serve the people of Temecula and Orange County, California—let us serve you today!
