VHM produces high-performance
2-piece exchangeable cylinder heads
with combustion chamber inserts for two-stroke motocross engines. With the
experience gained from a history of two-stroke tuning in Moto GP racing, VHM
has mastered the ability to create cylinder heads that not only cool the
engine better but create more horsepower than the stock head alone.
The VHM cylinder head is very easy to
change, just un-tighten the head bolts, and the head insert can be removed
within minutes. This makes it very easy to adjust the combustion ratio by
either using the MX (Motocross insert) or the SX (Supercross insert).
Most importantly when installing a VHM head it is important to set the
correct piston height by using additional OEM base gaskets. All VHM
inserts specify the correct piston height on the box they are shipped in.
The best way to set the correct piston height is by either having us install
the VHM head or using the VHM Piston Height Measuring Tool. (More Info.).
Note: VHM heads do not require the use of high-octane race fuels. Also bored-over
cylinders or after-market pistons may require different inserts, we only
offer a blank insert to be custom cut for these applications.
Results: During extensive tests, on the
racetrack and on the VHM Dynostar, the cylinder head showed a much lower temperature after the VHM head was installed. The
main explanation is due to the additional cooling created from
additional cooling channels milled around the billet insert.
An other advantage to VHM heads over stock is it's resistance to
detonation. Many stock cylinder heads are created from alloys
(combination of different metals) which will cause the sparkplug to to
cross-arch and not fire directly above the piston where it should.

billet anodized gold cylinder head and either one CNC machined Motocross (MX)
or one Supercross (SX) insert along with one set of all the necessary
